Mechanics Cooperative Bank recently donated $5,000 to support the Masonic Angel Fund at the King David Lodge in Taunton.
The American Freemasons’ Masonic Angel Fund supports children who do not necessarily fit the criteria for standard government social service programs. The fund will provide anything from a new coat or pair of eyeglasses, to alleviating the cost of field trip fees, music and art lessons or even specialized summer camps.
The Masonic Angel Fund will fulfill any need that helps to boost a child’s self-esteem, or broaden their educational experience. Requests can be made through a nurse, counselor or administrator and the requests are completely anonymous.
All donations to the Masonic Angel Fund are used for the community. Operating costs for the fund is covered through each local Masonic Lodge’s budget. All requests made to the fund will receive a response within one business day.
“I am amazed at how this fund operates – providing a response within 24 hours of the request and issuing funds on the same say if there is a need – The Masonic Angel Fund is truly one-of-a-kind,” said Joseph T. Baptista Jr., president and CEO of Mechanics Cooperative Bank. •
