Mechanics donates to St. Vincent’s

FALL RIVER – Mechanics Cooperative Bank has donated $1,000 to St. Vincent’s Home this past holiday season.
Directed to the Life Skills Program for youth aged 14 to 21, the donation is intended to help make the season more special.
The Saint Vincent’s Home staff provide direct care, in-home and community-based services, and other respite services to those in need.
“Mechanics Cooperative Bank and our employees are proud to continue the tradition of giving during this Christmas season and the youth in the Life Skills Program at Saint Vincent’s Home were at the top of our list,” said Joseph T. Baptista Jr., president and CEO of Mechanics Cooperative Bank. “We hope this gift will help make their holiday season a little better, and a little more special.”
The Life Skills program provides support for youth to complete their education, develop vocational interests, secure employment and begin to learn the life skills necessary to live independently.
Deborah A. Grimes, executive vice president of Mechanics Cooperative Bank and also a Saint Vincent’s Home board member, said, “The guidance and education provided at Saint Vincent’s Home makes a difference, and changes lives. We could not be more proud to support Saint Vincent’s, and the kids, throughout the year but especially during this Christmas season.”
Mechanics Cooperative Bank is Massachusetts’ second oldest co-operative bank with eight branches in Bridgewater, Taunton, North Dighton, Somerset, Swansea, Fall River and Westport.
