– The Medical Development Group announces its Wednesday, December 5, 2012 Forum entitled “Design and Human Factors Are Keys to Innovative Medical Device Products.” The December forum takes a broad view of human factors and the role played in a company's development process. Referencing the FDA's latest human factors guidance document "Applying Human Factors and Usability Engineering to Optimize Medical Device Design” from June of this year, Human Factors professionals from three consulting product development firms will share perspectives on the FDA's latest thinking and expectations. Moderator:

Scott Stropkay, Founding Partner of Essential Design, a design consultancy developing physical products, digital products, and service experiences.

Speakers: Pamela Davol, Clinical and Regulatory Project Manager at Ximedica, a medical product consulting and manufacturing firm located in Providence, RI.

Laurie Reed, Senior Human Factors Engineer at Farm Design, a full-service, ISO 13485-certified and FDA-compliant product development company located in southern New Hampshire.

Bill Hartman, Director of Research at Essential Design.
