Melanie Coon has been promoted to senior vice president for communications and marketing at The Rhode Island Foundation. She has been with the foundation since 2007, and also serves as assistant secretary to the board of directors. Coon has more than 30 years’ experience in strategic planning for nonprofits and corporations. She is a member of the Leadership Rhode Island Beta II class of 2006. •
