PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island – The game of baseball is a pertinent, real life and exciting way to learn about math, science, social studies and language skills. With this in mind, the Pawtucket Red Sox have teamed up with Rhode Island College to develop a unique learning tool – the Baseball in Education Curriculum Guide.

This Spring, students from around the region were encouraged to participate in the Baseball in Education Days pre-game on field educational activities at McCoy Stadium.
Open to elementary, middle and high school students, the activities were based on the Baseball In Education Curriculum and conducted by Rhode Island College faculty and students.

Minuteman Press Providence-Warwick underwrote and sponsored “Baseball in Education Days” by providing printing of a special workbook for attendees.

“We appreciate Minuteman Press Providence-Warwick for underwriting and sponsoring our first-ever ever PawSox Baseball in Education Workbook,” said Augusto “Cookie” Rojas, General Sales Manager, Pawtucket Red Sox. “The book gives kids an opportunity to learn the game, learn how to score, which is a dying art, to learn about their favorite players and about their team, the PawSox and our Home McCoy Stadium.”

Rojas continued, “We are very excited to have Minuteman Press Providence-Warwick be a sponsor of what has become a great educational event at McCoy Stadium. They, Karen, Valerie and their team, really stepped up when we needed them and the reaction of children when they got the workbook was priceless. I want to thank them for their support for this program, which over the years has grown from 50 children to over 1,600.”

“Thank you again Minuteman Press Providence- Warwick, for helping us help children!” said Rojas.
