Miriam doctor wins 2012 Men’s Health Award

PROVIDENCE – Dr. Martin Miner, co-director of the Men’s Health Center at The Miriam Hospital, has been named the 2012 recipient of the Men’s Health Award from the Massachusetts Medical Society.
The award, given to an individual who has advanced the cause of men’s health, will be presented at the 10th Annual Symposium on Men’s Health on June 11 at the Medical Society in Waltham, Mass.
The Men’s Health Center at Miriam, established in 2008, is the nation’s first interdisciplinary men’s health center, pulling together primary care physicians, urologists and mental-health professionals in a collaborative effort to treat men’s sexual and overall health.
Miner, who is also chief of family practice and community medicine at The Miriam Hospital, is a member of the editorial boards of the International Journal of Clinical Practice, Journal of Sexual Medicine, American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine, Postgraduate Medicine and The International Journal of Men’s Health. &#8226
