PROVIDENCE – The Miriam Hospital recently received a pair of national awards for the quality of its stroke patient care.
For the ninth time, the hospital was recognized with the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get with the Guidelines – Stroke Gold-Plus Quality Achievement Award.
For the first time, the hospital also received The Target: Stroke Honor Roll distinction.
The Miriam Hospital treats more than 300 stroke patients per year. According to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, stroke is the number five cause of death and a leading cause of adult disability in the U.S.
