PROVIDENCE – Mobiquity, the mobile consulting startup with a Rhode Island hub headed by local Joel Evans, has hired 10 people for its Providence office.

Evans said that the local office, located at 118 North Main St., is more of coffee shop-style and is about 1,000 square feet. It opened Aug. 15.

Mobiquity workers can work from home, show up once in a while, or claim a permanent desk. He noted that he has been successful in recruiting professionals from Boston and Connecticut.

Evans said he is “aggressively hiring” across the board – people of “all different qualifications” – and plans to hire at least 10 people at the Providence office by the end of the year but they’re being “opportunistic” about the hiring people, based on their skill set, and could hire more than that.
