January doesn’t offer much in the way of ideal beach weather, but a lack of people, beach chairs and umbrellas can be an advantage for those looking to do some winter beach combing and bird watching. Join naturalist Bob Kenney of Charlestown’s Kimball Wildlife Sanctuary for a winter walk on South Kingstown’s Moonstone Beach. Participants will explore the beach during low tide and are encouraged to bring binoculars. Although Moonstone has a reputation for being a clothing-optional beach, walkers will probably want to bundle up!
