PROVIDENCE – Three more public tour dates for the closed “Superman” building at 111 Westminster St. have been scheduled for upcoming Saturdays.
Reservations for the tour dates can be made starting Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. at eventbrite.com. Tickets will be available, free of charge, on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of two per person. Tour attendees will be asked for a ticket to enter the property. Each tour is limited to 40 participants.

Tours will be held Nov. 19, Dec. 3 and 10. Each tour will begin at 1 p.m. and is expected to last approximately an hour and a half.
Nicknamed “Superman” due to its resemblance of the iconic structure in the comic books and old television show, the building’s official name is the Industrial Trust Building.
The tours are part of building owner David Sweetser’s effort to provide public access, according to a news release.
Sweetser’s High Rock Development released five public tour dates in July and all 200 spots were reserved in less than two hours.
Providence Preservation Society members again will lead the tours.
“We greatly appreciate the efforts of the Providence Preservation Society to work out these additional dates around the holiday season. We thought the original tour dates would be popular, but we didn’t expect all 200 slots would be reserved in less than two hours. Rhode Islanders have a strong connection to this building,” David Sweetser, principal of High Rock Development, said in a statement.

Attendees will be able to tour the vault, banking hall and 25th floor, for views of the city. Participants also will be given a complimentary T-shirt and a pair of binoculars.
