Morse Silva joins WJAR’s Sunrise team

CRANSTON – Barbara Morse Silva will join Frank Coletta on Monday in anchoring the WJAR-TV NBC 10 Sunrise morning newscast weekdays at 5 a.m.

Morse Silva started at NBC 10 in June 1995 as a health reporter and has been anchoring the weekend evening newscasts for the past three years. Previously, she was the weekend general assignment reporter at WISH-TV in Indianapolis; a television news anchor/reporter at WLVI-TV in Boston; a general assignment reporter for WLNE-TV in Providence; and a news reporter at WAND-TV in Decatur, Ill., and KOLD-TV in Tucson, Ariz. Morse Silva covers medical advancements in her Health Check 10 reports.

Coletta began his career at NBC 10 in 1978, moving to anchor of the Sunrise newscast in 1985. He covers the local business community and financial news in his Minding Your Money segment. In addition, he interviews members of the Rhode Island business community every day in the Business Talk segment, including a weekly Monday segment with Providence Business News Editor Mark S. Murphy.

Coletta and Morse Silva will be joined by reporter and weekend Sunrise anchor Mario Hilario, reporter Audrey Washington, traffic reporter Tom Stewart, and meteorologists Gary Ley and Kelly Bates.
