Moses Brown breaks ground on performance center

PROVIDENCE – The Moses Brown School recently began construction of the new Woodman Family Community and Performance Center. The 25,295-square-foot facility will include space for academic, artistic and spiritual needs of students, according to Michael Viveiros, principal in charge of design for Durkee Brown Viveiros Werenfels Architects.
The Moses Brown School, established in 1784, is a private school that has almost 800 students in nursery school through 12th grade. It features a college preparatory curriculum and Quaker education principles.
The new Woodman Center will replace Alumni Hall, a 150-year-old building, as the school’s primary performance and assembly space.
The project is expected to be completed in 2016.
