EAST PROVIDENCE – A.B. Munroe Dairy Inc. will be recognized as the 2015 Business of the Year by the East Providence Chamber of Commerce.
The award will be given on Nov. 19 at the Metacomet Country Club. Gov. Gina M. Raimondo will be the guest speaker.
According to information from the chamber, one of the qualifications for the award is a commitment to maintain the company’s presence within the community.
“Over the past year, Munroe Dairy has reinvested its time, energy and resources to existing and future business and community initiatives. The organization now services close to 12,000 homes across the state of Rhode Island and parts of Southern Massachusetts and Connecticut with over 200 locally-sourced products,” a news release from the chamber stated.
The company, founded in 1881, also participates in many community events and charities, such as the Auto Magnet Program for the Katie DeCubellis Memorial Foundation and the Roger Williams Park Zoo, the release stated.
“We are grateful for this honor and owe our successes to our people. Our greatest relationships are with our customers, our employees and our vendors – it’s all about our people and their families. Without either one we’d have nothing, and it is why we’ve sustained and flourished over the years. We’d like to thank the East Providence Chamber for this recognition, and we are thankful for being able to contribute to our community,” Munroe Dairy CEO Rob Armstrong said in a statement.
Munroe said its milk comes fresh from the cow to a door in no more than 48 hours in its traditional glass bottles.
