NCMA names winners of business scholarships

NEWPORT – The National Contract Management Association’s Rhode Island chapter, has announced the three winners of its first annual business-scholarship program.
Awarded grants of $500 each were: Gregory Harvey of Norwood, Mass., management major at Johnson & Wales University; Alyssa Clemente of Spofford, N.H., marketing major at Salve Regina University; and Luke McCabe of East Weymouth, Mass., economics major at Roger Williams University. Clemente and McCabe are seniors and Harvey, sophomore.
The state chapter of the association is made up of Rhode Island and Massachusetts defense-related companies and other small businesses interested in doing business with the government, primarily the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport.
The Rhode Island group created the scholarship program this year to promote study in contract or project management, entrepreneurship and related business studies. Those chosen for the scholarships are among the top-performing business students at their schools, the management group said. &#8226
