NEIT expands marine technology program

EAST GREENWICH – New England Institute of Technology has expanded its marine-technology program in an effort to meet a growing labor market need for technical marine workers.

The school’s associate in science degree program in advanced marine technology offers additional courses of study in more of the advanced electronics and computer controls common in modern marine drive systems, according to a June 20 news release. These additional courses include Advanced Marine Diesel Service and Maintenance, Advanced Marine Propulsion Systems, and Advanced Marine Gasoline and EFI Emissions. 

The program includes theory and hands-on training in marine electricity, outboard-engine repair, marine gas and diesel inboard repair, transmissions, marine business concepts and navigation. •
