N.J. firm receives engineering award for work on bridge over Warren Ave.

EAST PROVIDENCE – The American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts has named Louis Berger, a Morristown, N.J., company hired by the R.I. Department of Transportation, as a winner of the 2016 Bronze Engineering Excellence Award for its work on Bridge No. 456 Replacement I-195 ramp, over Warren Avenue.
The award recognizes the accelerated bridge construction technique employed in the project, according to a news release.
According to the RI DOT, the accelerated process used on the bridge ramp reduced the bridge closure from 11 months to 22 days.
