National Marine Electronics Association recognizes KVH with three product awards

MIDDLETOWN – KVH Industries Inc. received three product of excellence awards from the National Marine Electronics Association.
KVH, a provider of guidance and Internet systems for the maritime, retail, leisure and defense industries, said the following products were recognized:

  • Satellite communications antenna category: TracPhone V3-IP, enabling broadband connectivity on boats
  • Satellite television antenna category: TracVision TV3, which makes it possible for boaters to enjoy high-definition television programming
  • The new category of marine apps with a technical utility: TracVision TV-series app

KVH said this is the 18th consecutive year that KVH has achieved the NMEA distinction for its TracVision satellite television antenna systems and the 13th time that KVH’s TracPhone satellite communications systems have been recognized.
NMEA is composed of more than 600 companies, including manufacturers, dealers and boat builders.

“We are thrilled to receive this recognition from NMEA knowing that it represents the opinion of skilled professionals who have firsthand experience with the installation and performance of our products, as well as those of our competitors,” Martin Kits van Heyningen, KVH CEO, said in a statement. “It is also exciting to see that our TracVision TV-series app is considered by technicians as the best in its class for this new category.”

The new “Marine App-Technical Utility” category shows how marine electronics technicians and installers work today, with Internet-based tools from their smartphones, KVH said. KVH’s TracVision TV-series app was singled out for “excellence for an embedded app whose primary function is to aid technicians who install or troubleshoot marine electronics,” according to a company new release about the awards.
