Neighborhood Health moving to Smithfield

PROVIDENCE – Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island is moving its headquarters here to Smithfield starting next month.

Tom Boucher, Neighborhood’s senior manager for communications and public affairs, said the move is expected to take five years, with the first phase beginning Jan. 11 when approximately 200 employees, mostly medical-management staff, will move from the Promenade Street office to 910 Douglas Pike, into a building previously occupied by Citizens Bank.

Boucher said Neighborhood has approximately 435 employees. He added the move is being done to accommodate growth and consolidate operations, as offices now are scattered throughout multiple spots on the Foundry campus. He said the company has 45 job openings. •
