Neighbors In Need to award money, toys

PROVIDENCE – Neighbors in Need, a program designed to help nonprofit organizations and individuals who are struggling this holiday season, will be awarding money and toys this coming week to people who need assistance during the holiday season.
Citizens Bank; Cumulus Broadcasting radio stations 92 PRO-FM, Lite Rock 105 and News Talk 630 WPRO and 99.7 FM; and Hasbro are participating for the sixth year.
As a way to give back on this #GivingTuesday and to start off this holiday season, listeners to 92 PRO-FM, Lite Rock 105 and News Talk 630 WPRO and 99.7 FM nominated members of their community who are in need of assistance through Dec. 6.
On weekdays, Dec. 9 through Dec. 13, Citizens Bank will award $500 per day on 92 PRO-FM, Lite Rock 105 and News Talk 630 WPRO and 99.7 FM to a family in need this holiday season. A donation will also be made in that family’s name to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and Crossroads Rhode Island to help other neighbors in need.
Hasbro will donate toys to the children in each winning family.
#GivingTuesday is a campaign to create a national day of giving at the start of the annual holiday season. It celebrates and encourages charitable activities that support nonprofit organizations.
“Citizens Bank understands that many people are in need this time of year,” said Kathy O’Donnell, head of public affairs for RBS Citizens Financial Group. “Through this meaningful partnership with Cumulus Broadcasting and Hasbro, we are able to make the holiday bright for some of our neighbors who are struggling.”
Hasbro and Cumulus Broadcasting managers also said their staffs are proud to support this campaign for giving back.
