PROVIDENCE – Legislation to allow a Utah-based university to begin the approval process for opening a new campus in Rhode Island was introduced in the House of Representatives on Wednesday.

Neumont University was founded in 2003 and has five computer science bachelor’s and master’s degree programs at its home base in South Jordan.

If passed, the legislation would be authorized to grant associate and bachelor’s degrees in Rhode Island.
