Neutaconkanut Hill Conservancy historic walk on Oct. 1

JOHNSTON – The Neutaconkanut Hill Conservancy will host an afternoon outing on Saturday, Oct. 1, which will include talks about the changing boundaries of the original Providence settlement founded by Roger Williams.

The short, easy-paced walk will begin at 2 p.m. at Johnston’s historic Andrew Harris House and participants will be led by organizers to various local landmarks, some of which are now on private property. Included in the tour will be a stop at the nearby newly-restored blacksmith shop. The day will end with refreshments at the Andrew Harris House.

This turn is across from 1162 Atwood Ave., “Best Wheel’s.” Proceed on Morgan Avenue. The home is on the righthand side of the road. Park along the street.
