New England Tech hosting 2016 Global Game Jam

EAST GREENWICH – New England Institute of Technology has been selected for the fifth consecutive year to serve as an official host site for the 2016 Global Game Jam, a 48-hour game design event to be held Jan. 29 to 31.

Last year, more than 11,000 gamers participated at nearly 500 jam sites around the world, according to information from NEIT.

Students, faculty, hobbyists and professionals will team up and create games during the weekend.

The event will begin at 3 p.m. on Jan. 29 in the university’s Media Presentation Theater. (The site will close from 10 p.m.-8 a.m. each day.)
