Friday, The Newport Art Museum will host an opening reception for three new exhibitions. Featured artists include Ana Flores, who will present sculptures and paintings that examine the history of Spanish colonization, sugar and the Cuban revolution, and James Montford, who will present a video and other works that strive to reconfigure and deconstruct racial stereotypes. These exhibitions will run through Jan. 6. The reception will also include works by members of the museum’s Photographers’ Guild. Photos will be on display through Jan. 13.
