PROVIDENCE – Dr. Arthur A. Bert has been been appointed chief of anesthesia at Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital, replacing Dr. Richard Browning, who is retiring after nearly 30 years at Rhode Island Hospital.
In his new capacity, Bert will oversee programs at both hospital campuses along with each hospital’s chief of anesthesia.
“Dr. Bert has been an integral part of the anesthesiology team at Rhode Island Hospital for more than 25 years, and we are excited to have him lead the departments at both campuses,” said Dr. Timothy J. Babineau, president and CEO at Rhode Island and The Miriam hospitals. “His experience, leadership and research efforts are exemplary.”
