NEWPORT – Newport Harbor Corp., the new owners of the Newport Charter Yacht Show, have chosen YachtAid Global as the official charitable partner for the 2012 edition of the show, to be held June 18-21.
YachtAid Global arranges for delivery of humanitarian aid about yachts cruising to remote parts of the globe – the group reports that it has reached locations with aid from 57 degrees north latitude to 52 degrees south latitude, or roughly from as far north as Juneau, Alaska, and as far south as the Falkland Islands.
YachtAid Global includes more than 500 yachting industry professionals in its network, from superyacht owners to captains, crew, agents and brokers.
“For the Newport Harbor Corp., this is a very simple equation,” said Tom DeLotto, event chair and director of the Newport Exhibition Group. “If, through our support of YachtAid Global, the organization is able to make connections with owners and yacht captains who are willing to provide help, then everyone wins.”
