The Newport Marriott recently unveiled a new look, the result of a substantive overhaul of 320 guest rooms and suites, common spaces and the second-floor function rooms. The work included new windows to take advantage of harbor views, improved privacy for hotel guests, and updated interiors and artwork installations inspired by the sea. A new restaurant, MainSail, has 98 seats and promotes dock-to-table local seafood. The Plank, a new bar in the lobby, features a finished wooden plank that connects the bar to the dining area, and also functions as a group table.
