EAST PROVIDENCE – Nordson EFD, a manufacturer of precision fluid-dispensing systems, has received the ASI 2013 Readers’ Choice Award from Adhesives & Sealants Industry magazine for its PICO 500Hz Dispense Valve, the company announced Monday.
Released earlier this year, the PICO 500Hz valve dispenses at continuous speeds up to 500Hz, or 500 cycles per second, making it the fastest piezoelectric valve available. Using robust, durable piezoelectric actuation technology, the PICO 500Hz valve applies precise and consistent amounts of fluid as small as 0.5 nanoliters, with exceptional accuracy and process control.
This is the third innovation award Nordson EFD has received in 2013. The ASI Readers’ Choice Award was presented Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the Adhesive and Sealant Council’s Fall Conference and Expo in Minneapolis.
“We are extremely pleased to receive this award for our PICO valve, because it was voted for by people in the industry who actually use or are familiar with dispensing valves and adhesives and sealant equipment,” said Claude Bergeron, product line manager for Nordson EFD, who accepted the award. “Recognition like this is validation of how seriously we listen to and try to accommodate customer needs.”
Because Nordson EFD’s PICO valves are non-contact and do not touch the substrate, they can dispense on uneven surfaces and used for products with small components, tight tolerances or hard-to-access areas. The system is compatible with a wide range of fluids, including adhesives, lubricants and industrial fluids, for a broad range of applications in the medical and electronics industries.
“Innovation truly drives the success of the adhesives and sealants industry, and we created the ASI Readers’ Choice Awards to celebrate all of the industry’s hard work and ingenuity,” said Susan Sutton, editor of Adhesives & Sealants Industry magazine, in a statement.
PBN is now accepting applications for its newest award program and event for RI & Bristol County to celebrate the Manufacturing Renaissance that is evolving regionally and across the country. The deadline for applications is March 20th.
