Nortek names Hughes as VP, treasurer

PROVIDENCE – Nortek Inc., maker of home and office security solutions, ventilation and air management products, and heating and cooling systems, announced the appointment last week of Matthew Hughes as vice president and treasurer.
In his new role, Hughes will oversee all Nortek treasury functions, risk management and taxes. He joins Nortek with 18 years of finance and treasury experience at GTECH Corp., where most recently he was chief financial officer of GTECH’s products and services division.
Prior to joining GTECH, Hughes filled various finance roles at Gartner Inc.
“Matt has deep experience developing and managing sophisticated treasury functions for a global public company, including capital raising activities and foreign currency hedge expertise,” said Nortek President and CEO Michael J. Clarke. “His significant business process and financial performance improvement experience, along with strong M&A exposure, makes him a great addition to our finance team.”
Nortek Chief Financial Officer Almon Hall said, “Matt’s business acumen and global experience, which includes living and working abroad, will be important to Nortek as we continue to grow our business and further strengthen our capital structure.”
Hughes holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Central Connecticut University and an MBA from Bryant University.
