WARWICK – Discount carrier Norwegian Airlines said it will launch nonstop seasonal service from T.F. Green Airport to the west coast of Norway starting in July.
The service, on the new Boeing 737 MAX, to Bergen Airport Flesland in Bergen, Norway’s second-largest city, was announced Tuesday.
“Travelers can opt for short weekend jaunts or longer stays giving an economic boost to the economies on both sides of the Atlantic,” Thomas Ramdahl, chief commercial officer at Norwegian, said in a statement.
Aslak Sverdrup, airport director at Bergen Airport Flesland, welcomed the news.
“For many tourists, Bergen is the first introduction to Norway and a gateway to the iconic fjords,” Sverdrup said.
Flights are now available at norwegian.com/us. Fares start at $89 one-way, including taxes.
Flights will operate twice a week from T.F. Green on Tuesdays and Saturdays, starting July 1.
Last month, Norwegian announced it would start service this summer from T.F. Green Airport to destinations in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

  1. I think all these new flights are great, but we still need improvement in our domestic service. Jet Blue announced new service from Worcester to JFK. When was the last time we had New York City service? I would take that service over Norway service any time!
