ONE Neighborhood Builders hires consultant, will not fill executive director vacancy immediately

PROVIDENCE – ONE Neighborhood Builders has announced it has hired a consultant, Ann Silverman, to help it identify a vision for the merged operations of Olneyville Housing Corp. and Community Works Rhode Island.
As a result, the nonprofit organization has decided to not immediately fill its opening for an executive director, which was created when former director Frank O’Shea left late in 2015.
The ONE Neighborhood Builders board instead has decided to delay the search for a new executive, while it determines its organizational goals, according to an announcement from board president Clay Rockefeller and Interim Executive Director Wendy Nicholas.
Community Works Rhode Island, which is a community development organization focused on the Elmwood area of Providence, has 51 properties, including 212 units of rental housing that are being managed by ONE Neighborhood. An acquisition is planned, and ONE Neighborhood is completing its due diligence, according to Rockefeller and Nicholas.
Silverman, who has conducted more than 50 executive searches for nonprofits, will begin recruiting for the new position in late April, according to a news release.
