Ocean State Theatre releases 2015-2016 season schedule

WARWICK – Ocean State Theatre Company has announced its fourth season, which will open with the macabre musical comedy, “The Addams Family.”
“Next season is a wonderful group of shows, most rarely, if ever, seen in Rhode Island, that make us laugh, inspire us or are just plain fun,” Amiee Turner, producing artistic director for Ocean State Theatre Company, said in a statement.
“The Addams Family: The Musical” will be presented from Sept. 30–Oct. 18: Wednesday Addams has a “normal” boyfriend and the Addams family hosts a dinner for him and his parents.
Other upcoming plays:

  • Nov. 4-22: “Around the World in 80 Days,” featuring adventurer Phileas Fogg, who has agreed to an “outrageous wager” to travel around the world in 80 days.
  • Jan. 27-Feb. 14, 2016: “Breaking Legs,” a story about a playwright who gets more than he bargains for when an Italian restaurant owner and his family agree to fund his play.
  • Feb. 24-March 13, 2016: “1776,” which travels back in time to the summer of 1776 when the nation was ready to declare independence.
  • March 30-April 17, 2015: “The Miracle Worker,” the story of Annie Sullivan and her student, blind and mute Helen Keller.
  • April 27-May 15, 2016: “Anything Goes,” which takes place aboard the SS America, sailing from New York to England.

Opening weekend performances will be held on Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. All other performances will be held Thursday through Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m., as well as select Wednesday evenings and Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m.
Ocean State is at 1245 Jefferson Blvd. Preview performances will be $30 for plays and $39 for musicals. All other performances will be $34 to $49 for plays and $39 to $59 for musicals. Discount rates for groups of 20 or more will also be available.

Single tickets for the 2015-16 Season will go on sale to the public beginning July 6.
