WARWICK – Officials will attend a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday morning to mark the opening of Ascensus College Saving’s new office here at 475 Kilvert St., Building A, Suite 300.
General Treasurer Seth Magaziner, who will be in attendance along with Gov. Gina M. Raimondo, named Ascensus College Savings the new program administrator for Rhode Island’s 529 college savings program last November.
The opening of the Warwick office brings 35 jobs to Rhode Island and will be used to administer Rhode Island’s college saving program, according to information from the treasurer’s office.
Ascensus will officially begin administering the program on July 12.
In addition to Magaziner and Raimondo, Jeff Howkins, president and CEO of Ascensus College Savings, and Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian will speak.
Recently, the treasurer said that Lisa Churchville, who previously served as director of the Rhode Island CollegeBoundfund since January, has been named chief operating officer at the R.I. Treasury.
