PROVIDENCE – Gov. Lincoln D. Chafee, along with Gov.-elect Gina M. Raimondo and members of the state’s congressional delegation, today will announce that five international companies are looking to establish a presence in the Ocean State.

According to information from the governor’s office, the announcement is the result of relationship-building between Chafee and international partners in Europe, starting with the governor’s trade mission to Italy and Ireland this past April.

The announcement is scheduled to be made at 11 a.m. at the Statehouse. U.S. Sen. Jack F. Reed, U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, U.S. Rep. James R. Langevin and U.S. Rep. David Cicilline, as well as Donald Sweitzer, chairman of GTECH Corp., are expected to attend, as well as representatives from international companies.
