Omni, partners benefit American Lung Association

PROVIDENCE – The Omni Hotel Providence and several other sponsors recently helped the American Lung Association to raise a record-breaking $191,000 this year in its sixth annual Fight for Air Climb in Providence.
More than 800 climbers tackled the stairs in a vertical challenge on Feb. 22 to raise money in the fight against lung disease.
“The American Lung Association started our Fight for Air Climb in Providence six years ago and each year we are overwhelmed by how it continues to grow. In fact, the event has become so large that it called for an all-new venue for 2014,” said Jeff Seyler, president and CEO of the American Lung Association of the Northeast. “Our event has become a staple in the greater Providence community; a community that supports us year after year. We are so grateful to everyone who has helped to make the Providence climb what it is today.”
Omni Hotel’s General Manager Josh Heidenreich said the Omni was eager to play host.
“We have a rich tradition of helping local community causes and the Lung Association’s lifesaving mission is one that the Omni supports,” he said. “For us it not only makes good business sense to bring hundreds of prospective customers into the Omni, but our associates and guests can feel proud that the Omni helps the local community.”
The Providence Fight for Air Climb is sponsored by the Omni Providence Hotel, Collette Vacations, Rí Rá Irish Pub, WJAR-TV NBC 10, Fidelity Investments, LGC&D, Absolute Respiratory Care, CVS/pharmacy, Electric Boat, Vermont Hard Cider, Hot 106 FM, Amica Insurance, MetLife and Genentech. The event is also made possible with the support of national Corporate Team partner, Kindred Healthcare.
