OpenTable: Bouchard one of most romantic restaurants in U.S.

NEWPORT – With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, one Rhode Island restaurant has made OpenTable’s list of the top 100 romantic restaurants in America: Bouchard Restaurant and Inn in Newport.
Bouchard, which also made the list last year, is described by the website as a contemporary French restaurant in a 1785 Georgian-style house.
“A warm relaxed ambiance and gracious welcome signals your arrival,” OpenTable states on its website.
Salmon, restuffed roasted lobster and scallops, and pork tenderloin are some of the dishes on the menu.
The top 100 list was compiled from more than 5 million restaurant reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners for more than 20,000 restaurants in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. OpenTable, which specializes in online dining reservations, said reviews were collected between Dec. 7, 2014, and Dec. 6, 2015.

Qualifying restaurants were then scored and sorted according to the percentage of reviews for which “romantic” was selected as a special feature, OpenTable said.

“Food is inextricably – and deliciously – tied to love and romance,” Caroline Potter, OpenTable chief dining officer, said in a statement. “This year’s honorees represent the perfect places for diners to savor their love, whether it’s marking a moment in time or creating a new shared memory over fine fare in an intimate and special setting.”
