PC Troubleshooters to host video-surveillance workshop

PROVIDENCE – PC Troubleshooters Inc. announced that it will host an informational workshop about network video surveillance for police chiefs and officers based in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.
The event, co-sponsored by Axis Communications, will be held Thursday, Nov. 7, and will demonstrate Axis’ IP surveillance technology. Attendees will learn how network video surveillance can improve public and officer safety, as well as provide evidence-grade high-definition videos for forensic analysis.
“As a lifelong resident, father and business owner in Rhode Island, economic growth and neighborhood safety are at the forefront of my mind,” said Eric M. Shorr, president of PC Troubleshooters. “This event, and the technology discussions that it spurs, are key to making sure Rhode Island’s law enforcement has access to the most advanced network surveillance technology for the safety and security of our residents and police departments.”
PC Troubleshooters has installed hundreds of the Axis surveillance cameras at campuses, marina, apartment complexes and properties throughout Rhode Island, the Providence-based IT support company said, and will showcase the “Axis Police Charger” equipped with Axis cameras and video technology at the workshop.
“The way I describe them is as another human on the police force,” said Lisa Shorr, vice president and co-owner of PC Troubleshooters. “They’re like a computer with a lens – they’re intelligent, they detect on motion, they have high definition low-light capabilities, and they’ll really augment police forces’ efforts in Rhode Island.”
Representatives from major police departments from across the state have registered to attend the event, she added.
