PCU lauded by credit union association

MIDDLETOWN – People’s Credit Union received an award of excellence and was named Credit Union of the Year by the Cooperative Credit Union Association.
“These awards are a result of the hard work and commitment of all employees and the Board of Directors. It was our honor to accept these awards on behalf of all employees, Board and our members,” said Ellen Ford, president and CEO.
The Excellence in Advocacy Award for Rhode Island award is given to a credit union that shows a “commitment to promoting awareness of credit unions.” The Credit Union of the Year Award is given as a recognition of “overall commitment to advocacy and social responsibility.”
People’s, based in Middletown, is a member of the Cooperative Credit Union Association, a credit union trade group.
