The Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants of Rhode Island recently completed its second annual fundraising drive, netting more than $4,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The funds were donated by physical-therapy rehabilitation and inpatient/outpatient offices throughout Rhode Island.
The Miriam Hospital Outpatient and Inpatient Rehabilitation Services Department was named the campaign’s top donor, raising $495 of the total $4,067.58. Miriam Hospital staff collected donations from co-workers, family, friends and patients for the campaign. They celebrated the achievement with a pizza party donated by DePetrillo’s Pizza and Bakery.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts and Rhode Island is a nonprofit that grants wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. The donation from the Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants of Rhode Island was used to help grant the wish of Eric Rollins, a 17-year-old Woonsocket resident. •
