BURRILLVILLE – Frank Pallotta, superintendent of the Burrillville school system, was named the 2013 Rhode Island Superintendent of the Year by the Rhode Island School Superintendents’ Association.

Pallotta, who has served as superintendent in Burrillville since 2009, has been an educator for 42 years.

“The award recognizes outstanding achievement in leading his school district, his dedication to the education of all children, his commitment to the community and his service to RISSA,” said a Rhode Island School Superintendents’ Association release.

Prior to his post with the Burrillville school system, Pallotta served as superintendent in Lincoln from 1999 to 2003 and assistant principal in Providence prior to that.
