Passenger traffic rises nearly 13% in February at T.F. Green

WARWICK – T.F. Green Airport saw its passenger count rise for the second month in a row in February, to 246,978 from 219,250 a year ago, a 12.7 percent increase.
During the first two months of the year, there were 500,466 passengers, 8.1 percent more than the same period last year, the R.I. Airport Corporation reported on Thursday.
All five major carriers reported increases over the year in February, led by Delta Airlines at 18.6 percent, to 28,538 from 24,056 the year before.
Southwest Airlines followed with a 14.3 percent increase, to 118,001 from 103,231, and American Airlines at 10.7 percent, to 58,259 from 52,639. United Airlines posted a 4.3 percent increase, to 17,743 from 17,012, followed by JetBlue at 4.2 percent, to 21,766 from 20,893.
Southwest again held the largest market share at 47.8 percent, with American behind at 23.6 percent, Delta at 11.6 percent; JetBlue, 8.8 percent; and United, 7.1 percent.
TACV Cabo Verde Airlines, which flies year-round to Cape Verde, held 0.57 percent market share; it had 1,413 passengers in February and started offering service from Green last June. Year to date, it has had 3,384 passengers.
