The Pawtucket Red Sox is this year’s Triple-A International League champion and recipients of the coveted 2012 International League Governors’ Cup.

The Governors’ Cup trophy will be on display at the Second Annual Watchemoket Square Day event in East Providence on Saturday, October 13, 2012. It will be available for viewing and picture-taking from 9:00am – 11:30am near St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 81 Warren Avenue, East Providence.

This is the PawSox Club’s third Governors’ Cup. They first won in 1973 and again in 1984. At the end of each baseball season, the three divisional leaders and a wild card team square off in best-of-5 playoffs, and the winning team of the finals is awarded the Governors’ Cup, the league’s championship trophy.
