PAWTUCKET – The Pawtucket Foundation has announced this year’s annual awards celebration honorees, and they will be recognized on April 5 at the Pawtucket Armory Arts Center.
According to the foundation, the following individuals will be recognized for their efforts and commitment as “key members of the Pawtucket community”:
- Person of the Year: Michael Horan, a lawyer, Pawtucket native and longtime board member of the Pawtucket Foundation. This award is given to someone who has significantly contributed to enhancing the quality of economic and community life in Pawtucket.
- Heritage Award: Gary E. Furtado and Navigant Credit Union. This award recognizes an outstanding long-term commitment to the city and its residents. Furtado is president and CEO of the credit union.
- Special Distinction: Pamela Hughes. This award honors outstanding contributions in a particular aspect of the community. Hughes is being recognized as a leader who is helping to revitalize downtown Pawtucket.
