PAWTUCKET – Small businesses in Pawtucket have a new resource for training and free counseling from a partnership announced Feb. 3 at ceremony at Pawtucket City Hall. The Pawtucket Foundation has entered into a co-sponsorship agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Rhode Island District Office, the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, TD Bank, SCORE and the Center for Women & Enterprise to encourage and support local businesses.
“In retail markets alone, there is [more than] $180 million in uncaptured sales potential in this area,” Pawtucket Foundation Executive Director Aaron Hertzberg said at the signing ceremony for the agreement. “By offering assistance, connecting businesses to available resources and building partnerships like the one we are formalizing today, we believe that small businesses in Pawtucket can capitalize on this opportunity.”
Under the terms of the agreement, SBA and its resource partners, including SCORE and the Center for Women & Enterprise, will provide counseling and training programs to small business owners and would-be entrepreneurs in Pawtucket.
