Chez Pascal in Providence will be the site of a unique “Pearls of Wisdom” fundraiser on November 11, 2012 to benefit Sophia Academy.
Lynn McCarthy, a long-time volunteer and supporter of the school and member of Sophia's Athena Society, along with several volunteer committee members, have planned what promises to be a night full of glitter and festivities! The fundraiser will feature hundreds of pieces jewelry that will be sold at greatly reduced prices.
There will also be special auction items including two brooches donated by former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. There will also be music, food and drink.
According to McCarthy, jewelry will include everything from vintage and costume to pearls, precious stones, silver and gold along with some local celebrity pieces!
Because of space limitations, the fundraiser will be held in two parts. The first gathering is from 4:00pm - 6:30pm and will feature live music, light hors d'oeuvres and complimentary sparkling wine.
The second is from 6:30pm to 9:00pm with music, heavy hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. Additional jewelry will be made available throughout the night.
McCarthy also explained that the name of the event pays homage to the school as Sophia means “wisdom” in Greek. The word was specifically chosen by School Founder Sister Mary Reilly when she started Sophia Academy in 2001.
Tickets to each event are $60.00; tickets to attend both parties are $100.00.
