People’s Credit Union, Credit Unions of Rhode Island raise nearly $91K for Special Olympics

MIDDLETOWN – People’s Credit Union in conjunction with the Credit Unions of Rhode Island raised $90,900 to help support the Special Olympics Rhode Island.
This record-breaking donation will help give many local athletes the opportunity to compete, challenge themselves and to achieve, according to a press release.
“People’s Credit Union is proud to be a partner in the efforts made by the Rhode Island credit union community,” said Christopher Eden, vice president of information technology and operations at People’s. He’s also a Social Responsibility Committee member at the Credit Unions of Rhode Island.
“Together as one organization, we have helped put smiles on the faces of athletes throughout the state,” he added.
People’s Credit Union is a member-owned, state-chartered, federally insured, community credit union headquartered in Rhode Island that offers a wide range of financial services.
Throughout the year, Credit Unions of Rhode Island holds fundraisers, including an annual bowling tournament in which credit unions compete against each other, an annual golf tournament, and the sale of candy bars in the spring and of calendars in the winter. Each member credit union also contributes through individual donations.
