People’s Credit Union creates, sells employee cookbook to raise funds for R.I. Food Bank

MIDDLETOWN – People’s Credit Union has created and sold an employee cookbook, from which all proceeds will be donated to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.

The credit union’s Community Enhancement Committee met and received donations from folks who bought the cookbook, raising $1,182.

“The [committee] is always looking for ways to make a difference and thought that sharing tried and true recipes with the community and being able to donate the proceeds … would be a perfect example of the credit union philosophy of people helping people,” said Tiffany Costa, committee chair.

The cookbook features more than 70 recipes ranging from salads and appetizers to main dishes and desserts, according to a press release. It was sold to employees and credit union members throughout December and January. Close to 250 cookbooks were sold, according to the release.
