ISLAND MOVING CO. CELEBRATES 30 YEARS

Contemporary ballet company, Island Moving Co., will celebrate its 30th anniversary on Friday, July 13 with a gala called The World is Your Oyster. The gala will be held in the International Yacht Restoration School’s Restoration Hall, 449 Thames St., Newport. The evening will include an excerpt from Miki Ohlsen’s ballet, “Dracula,” with live music by its composer, Felix Ventouras. Guests can also dance to the sounds of Tin Pan Band and participate in an auction. Dinner will be served by Blackstone Caterers. PAWSOX WIVES TO STRIKE OUT HUNGER

Wives of Pawtucket Red Sox players will collect pasta donations Monday, July 16 as the PawSox take on Syracuse at McCoy Stadium, 1 Columbus Ave., Pawtucket. As part of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank’s Striking Out Hunger initiative, the wives will be at the stadium’s main entrance to accept donations before the start of 7 p.m. game. Those who donate two new boxes of pasta will receive a free autographed picture of a PawSox player. Donations help support more than 60,000 people who depend on the Food Bank. BIKE RUN FOR CHILDREN’S WISHES

The Cercle Laurier Club Inc., will hold an inaugural bike run and barbecue to benefit Children’s Wishes of Rhode Island Sunday, July 22 at the club, 165 E. School St., Woonsocket. All are welcome to join the motorcycle run and enjoy food, entertainment and raffle prizes after. URI GOLF TOURNAMENT

The University of Rhode Island will host the second annual Harry Amaral Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament Monday, July 30 at Valley Country Club, 251 New London Ave., Warwick. The tournament includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, lunch, auctions and dinner. The event begins with lunch at 11:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m. All proceeds from the tournament will support the scholarship foundation. Tickets: $150 per player. BRAVEHEART BALL TO BENEFIT STAR KIDS

Newport Polo Club will host its 12th annual black-tie charity gala Friday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. at Rosecliff, 548 Bellevue Ave., Newport. This year’s event has been dubbed the Braveheart Ball for guests of honor, the Scottish polo team. PROVIDENCE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM GOLF TOURNAMENT

Providence Children’s Museum will host its 29th Allen H. Chatterton Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament Monday, Aug. 6 at Carnegie Abbey Club, 125 Corys Lane, Portsmouth. Registration begins at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start 12:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for a betting hole and the longest drive. The day’s events also include a tennis round robin and a waterfront dinner with cocktails. Cost: golf packages start at $300 for individual golfers and $1,500 for foursomes.
