FAITH WALK TO HELP VETERANS
The seventh annual Faith Walk for Charity will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14 at Colt Sate Park, Route 114, Bristol. Participants of all religions will walk a one-mile course to support the Providence VA Medical Center’s Veterans Transitional Supportive Program. Walkers may participate as individuals or teams, and may register in advance or on the day of the event. HARRINGTON HALL CLOTHING DRIVE
The House of Hope Community Development Corp. will collect new and used men’s clothing from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 20 in the parking lot of Executive Auto Sales, 296 George Washington Highway, Smithfield. Garments will be donated to Harrington Hall, the largest men’s emergency shelter in Rhode Island. All items should be clean and in good condition. FLY FOUNDATION ROAD RACE
The Financial Lift for Young Adults with Cancer Foundation will hold a 5K road race and walk Sunday, Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. The event, to be held rain or shine, will begin at BankFive, 79 North Main St., Fall River and end at The Tap House Grill, 159 South Main St., Fall River, where a free lunch buffet will be offered to participants. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in seven age groups, in addition to overall top female, male and survivor finishers. Those who pre-register can pick up their numbers on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Tap House Grill. All pre-registered participants will receive a T-shirt.
