FAITH WALK TO HELP VETERANS

The seventh annual Faith Walk for Charity will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14 at Colt Sate Park, Route 114, Bristol. Participants of all religions will walk a one-mile course to support the Providence VA Medical Center’s Veterans Transitional Supportive Program. Walkers may participate as individuals or teams, and may register in advance or on the day of the event. Check-in will be held at 1:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, but donations are encouraged. HARRINGTON HALL CLOTHING DRIVE

The House of Hope Community Development Corp. will collect new and used men’s clothing from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 20 in the parking lot of Executive Auto Sales, 296 George Washington Highway, Smithfield. Garments will be donated to Harrington Hall, the largest men’s emergency shelter in Rhode Island. All items should be clean and in good condition. MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION GALA

The Rhode Island Manufacturers Association will host its annual gala reception and dinner from 6 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Renaissance Providence Downtown Hotel, 5 Avenue of the Arts, Providence. This year’s theme focuses on the renaissance of manufacturing in Rhode Island, and how the industry has transformed throughout the years. The black tie-optional event includes a cocktail hour, dinner and entertainment by Cinestories and Brian Mullaney and Friends. Complimentary wine and valet service will be available. FLY FOUNDATION ROAD RACE

The Financial Lift for Young Adults with Cancer Foundation will hold a 5K road race and walk Sunday, Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. The event, to be held rain or shine, will begin at BankFive, 79 North Main St., Fall River and end at The Tap House Grill, 159 South Main St., Fall River, where a free lunch buffet will be offered to participants. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in seven age groups, in addition to overall top female, male and survivor finishers. Those who pre-register can pick up their numbers on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Tap House Grill. All pre-registered participants will receive a T-shirt. Race-day registration will be held from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Registration: $25 before Saturday, Oct. 13, $28 after. PROVIDENCE PLACE GIVES

Providence Place will host Providence Place Gives, a fundraiser celebrating five Rhode Island organizations and the philanthropists who support them, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28. The celebration will be in Center Court, located on level one of Providence Place, 12 Providence Place, Providence. Guests will enjoy entertainment, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction. During the event, five women representing Crossroads Rhode Island, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Meeting Street, Rebuilding Together and the Trinity Repertory Co. will be honored. Proceeds from the event will benefit their organizations. Tickets: $20 advance, $30 at the door.
