TOYS FOR TOTS TELETHON

The 19th annual Victor J. Venturini Memorial Toys for Tots Telethon will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 11, from 5 to 9 p.m. in the food court of the Warwick Mall, 400 Bald Hill Road, Warwick. The event will be hosted by Bob Venturini, the U.S. Marine Corps and local celebrities, including radio and television personalities. During the telethon, attendees are invited to bring new, unwrapped toy donations onto the stage. This event is free and open to the public. MEAL DRIVE OPEN HOUSE

The Rhode Island Community Food Bank will open its doors to the public from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 15. As part of its holiday meal drive, the food bank has invited those of all ages to donate and sort food, and tour the food bank, located at 200 Niantic Ave., Providence. Miss Rhode Island and Miss Teen Rhode Island will present. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served and attendees may participate in scavenger hunts. Most needed items include peanut butter, canned tuna, canned fruits and vegetables, dried or canned beans, pasta, rice, breakfast cereal, and canned soups, stews or chili. GARDEN DINNER BENEFIT

Sandywoods will host a community garden benefit dinner at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16 at Sandywoods Center for the Arts, 43 Muse Way, Tiverton. Diners will be served a five-course gourmet meal while enjoying live entertainment by the flute duo Al Fresco Flutes. The menu features oysters, steamed mussels, littleneck clam stew, grass-fed beef from Tiverton’s Gray Rock Farm, Maine lobster tail, desserts and more. Patrons may bring their own beverages. Proceeds from the dinner will support next year’s community garden operations. Cost: $35 per person, children 12 and younger dine free. HOLIDAY FASHION & COMEDY

Children’s Wishes will host a fashion and comedy show at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17 at Catch A Rising Star in Twin River Casino, 100 Twin River Road, Lincoln. The evening will include comedy by Ben Hague, who recently appeared on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” and a fashion presentation by Ty Scott. Tickets: $20 per person. GALA FOR CHILD & FAMILY

The International Special Events Society will host a holiday gala and charity fundraiser to benefit Child & Family Services from 7 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Belle Mer, 2 Goat Island, Newport. The event includes food, beverage, entertainment and a silent auction and raffle. Tickets: $25 per person. There will be an after party from 10 p.m. to midnight at the Hyatt Regency Newport, 1 Goat Island, Newport.
